What they said about us
The readers had very positive things to say about both Galway and Dublin, describing exactly what they loved about the cities in their comments.
Galway impressed readers with “live music in the pubs and in the street, the food,” and the vibe.
Just look at this city – it’s hard not to be charmed.

Speaking about Dublin, one reader described how, ”The people make the place” here, with “pubs and restaurants filled with locals and tourists alike, coming together to celebrate life.”
“The Irish are so much fun,” and “there’s always a smiling face to talk to.”
We had best recommendations on where to go and what to see from the locals… better than any guide book.
CEO of Tourism Ireland Niall Gibbons said: “Again and again, our research shows us that the friendliness of our people is one of our unique selling points. It is the warm welcome and the ‘craic’ here that resonates with our overseas visitors and makes our cities, and the island of Ireland, such a great choice for a short break or holiday.
Micheál Coughlan, Managing Partner InterSearch Ireland commented “the Condé Nast Traveler survey is great news for the Irish Tourism industry, confirming many of the positive aspects Ireland can offer the international tourist. I am also delighted to see Krakow in Poland make the list as this is the location for the 2017 InterSearch General Assembly”.
