An American clinical diagnostics company has announced a new investment of up to €6m in its Wexford operations, which will result in at least 20 new jobs.
By announcing new research and development projects that will start up in 2024, Waters Corporation acknowledges its presence at Drinagh in Wexford for 25 years.
Waters Corporation, a Massachusetts-based company, employs thousands of people worldwide, including 400 individuals in Wexford.
This facility serves as the company’s main location for producing and shipping in-vitro diagnostic equipment, reagent kits, and software utilised by hospitals and laboratories around the world for tasks including health screenings for millions of newborn babies.
The multi-year investment is a component of Waters’ strategic purpose to assess the potential of its mass spectrometry technology for broader diagnostic solutions in early illness detection fields including cancer screening. This mission was first announced in 2021.
