TE Connectivity invests €5 million in a new Galway prototyping centre.
This week, after investing €5 million, the American connection and sensor manufacturer TE Connectivity launched its rapid prototyping plant in Galway.
The centre has opened at the Parkmore West Business Park’s Propelus Prototype Centre for Medical Devices, which is part of the company’s current manufacturing site. TE Connectivity have been operating in Galway since 1979 and currently employ around 1,300 people.
The new centre intends to shorten the time needed for innovative medical device development and speed up the time to market.
According to TE Connectivity, this might eventually result in TE producing a wider variety of devices for interventional, surgical, imaging, and sensor applications for the top medical technology brands in the world.
