Open University gives pitching and conference networking tips to start-ups attending Web Summit

As the 2014 Web Summit in Dublin approaches, The Open University has taken a look through the advice and recommendations provided by previous attendees – including investors, start-ups, and journalists – to provide a list of tips from personal experience to help start-ups stand out from the crowd.

Among the suggestions are: be excited about what you’re doing; explain what you do in simple terms; set measureable goals; perfect your pitch; follow up after the initial contact; explain the problem you’re solving; showcase your innovation; arrange meetings in advance; and don’t rush into investment.
The Web Summit takes place from 4–6 November 2014, with over 20,000 attendees expected
