CIPD Western Event – Whistleblowers in Banking: Risk Compliance and Corruption

kate Kenny, Reader at Queen’s University Management School, Belfast

Dr Kenny holds an Edmond J. Safra Lab Fellowship at Harvard University. As part of this fellowship, she is completing a book that examines the perspectives of whistleblowers in banking organizations, in relation to their decisions to speak up about perceived problems. Located within the discipline of organizational sociology, the project applies Dr Kenny’s research expertise in the study of organizational identity and culture to the issue of speaking out in banking organizations. In addition, Dr Kenny is working on a two-year research project, supported by the British Academy/ Leverhulme Trust (with Professor Marianna Fotaki at Warwick Business School). The project examines whistleblowing in Irish and UK organizations. Dr Kenny also holds a research fellowship at Cambridge University’s Judge Business School, and her work has been published in Organization Studies and Human Relations among other journals.
