32 companies travelling to Turkey for four-day Enterprise Ireland trade mission
Thirty-two Irish companies are travelling to Turkey today to begin a four-day Enterprise Ireland trade mission, which is being led by Minister for Business and Employment, Ged Nash.
The companies travelling are from a wide range of sectors, including aviation, engineering, international education, ICT and telecommunications.
Bilateral trade between Turkey and Ireland currently stands at over €1.2bn. At the moment, 135 Irish-owned companies are exporting to Turkey, five of which have a direct presence in the market. Enterprise Ireland opened an office in Istanbul in January 2014.
“There are significant opportunities for increased trade and partnerships between Irish and Turkish companies,” said Minister Nash. “Bilateral trade between Ireland and Turkey is now more than €1.2bn, and I believe that this figure can be increased to the benefit of both countries. We share a similar economic vision and there is a substantial benefit for us to build closer commercial relationships and to learn from each other.”
