29pc more professional job vacancies in Ireland compared to a year ago

The number of professional job vacancies in Ireland was 29pc higher in September 2014 at 10,572 compared to the same month last year, according to the latest Morgan McKinley Irish Employment Monitor.

However, it shows that the number of professional candidates available has fallen from 9,670 in September 2013 to 7,400 in September 2014.

Morgan McKinley chief operations officer Karen O’Flaherty said the 29pc increase in vacancies was “a historic increase” and further evidence of the growing strength of the jobs market.
