Scope:

The Planning Lead is accountable for the end-to-end finished goods & raw material planning activities in the Plant. The role is responsible for leading the local planning team & co-ordinating operational activities ensuring alignment to agreed Operating Plan (Capacity) and Inventory policy (Lead time/batch size) while continuously meeting Service and Cash flow targets.


Scope:

The Planning Lead is accountable for the end-to-end finished goods & raw material planning activities in the Plant. The role is responsible for leading the local planning team & co-ordinating operational activities ensuring alignment to agreed Operating Plan (Capacity) and Inventory policy (Lead time/batch size) while continuously meeting Service and Cash flow targets.

 

Responsibilities

Coordinate the operational requirements to support the approved Operating Plan and customer requirements. Monitor and ensure execution of operations to support the Inventory Policy.

Pipeline Management

  • Ensure the Global SC Suite management tools are used effectively to control and analyse pipeline.
  • Synchronization of downstream supply chain activities. (Raw Material Management / First Of Code Management, Market conversion, product enhancement, rationalization)
  • Uses their experience to define solutions/recommendations to mitigate potential issues
  • Own, Track and communicate Key performance indicators for Service Level, Production vs Plan
  • Has an excellent working relationship with critical partners to help them manage the pipeline;
    • Local plant manufacturing, quality & supply chain execution teams
    • EMEA SC execution team to manage bottlenecks in replenishment centres for inbound FG’s
  • Proactively communicates risk of supply to EMEA region with action plan
    • Weekly; Ensure Low cover report issued for EMEA and represented in EMEA forums
    • Monthly; Actively participate in Operating Plan reviews to drive alignment & escalation when needed.
  • Drive greater efficiencies through improved co-ordination between planning and logistics teams, continuous improvement initiatives & effective 6S programme

Raw Material Management

  • Accountability for delivering RM financial inventory in line with cash flow plan.
  • Ensure accuracy of FG signal that will drive RM procurement
  • Lead the team for RM and the purchasing functions to optimise inventory policy for Raw Materials and identify & deliver improvement opportunities on a continuous basis as part of the “Drive the Change” forum.

Requirements:

The Planning Lead - will have excellent interpersonal skills

  • In-depth understanding of all aspects of end to end supply chain and how we interact with other functions
  • Embraces change, challenges status quo and makes recommendations for improvements to processes. Creates tools that help simplify job tasks and shares these with others
  • Has the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of, others in sensitive situations
  • Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Drives results through team leadership and accountability
  • Able to nurture and develop a diverse team to meet goals of the organization
  • Ability to communicate across multiple levels of the EMEA organization, verbally (face to face and virtual) and written
  • Capable of analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought
  • Capable of translating complex supply chain challenges into simple communication understood by our partners
  • Able to deal with ambiguity

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supply chain role.
  • APICS certification would be an advantage

Experience

  • Previous experience of a multi-line manufacturing facility, with responsibility for a complex pipeline
  • Ideally in Healthcare / Pharmaceutical, or similar fast moving products
  • Managing and developing a team of direct reports
